Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but it's not to late to squeeze in some festive fall cookies. You could have these done in a jiffy and still have time to baste that turkey.
These cookies can be made a few days in advance. That will keep your oven open for hot rolls and turkey.
You'll need a few fall colors of icing. You can find the recipe that I use here.
1. Flood half of the cookie with icing.
2. Flood the other half with a different color of icing.
3. Using a toothpick, drag the icing from one side to the other where the veins should be.
Let the icing dry. I let mine sit out over night. Once the icing is dry, cover tightly with plastic wrap or store in an airtight container. These can be kept for several days quite nicely.
