Nothing is worse than biting into a decadent chocolate and not getting the flavor you expected. Maybe you were expecting a gooey caramel and find that it is actually a cordial cherry. Now that's a shocker! My husband calls this phenomenon chocolate roulette. He has been known to take a bite and put the candy back if it is not what he was looking for, eww. Well, there will be no more chocolate roulette in my house! I have found a very decorative solution.
See that little gold design on the top of my Irish Cream Truffles? It is more than decoration. It is a label.

Marathon Cupcakes
Eighteen weeks ago I embarked on one of the most crazy undertakings of my life. Last Sunday, I finished it by running the Bay State Marathon! For the record, I do not consider myself a runner, just someone who happens to run. That's what makes this so crazy. My husband has run multiple marathons and I've always thought he was a bit insane. Last May he convinced me to give it a shot. During the 400+ miles of training I questioned my sanity regularly.
Now that it doesn't hurt to walk to the kitchen I had to make something to celebrate my completion and replace some of those calories. How about some white chocolate finishing medals?

Taste of Fall - Apple Tacos
For this dessert I have to give total credit to my oldest son. It was completely his idea. I was making lace cookies for fun. I had never made them before. They are quite unique. My oldest said, "Hey, why don't you shape the cookies like a taco shell and fill them with something and make dessert tacos?" Brilliant! He's creating his own desserts. I think I'm raising him right!
This is how they come together.

Great Gadget - Side Swipe
It has been a while since I showed y'all a favorite gadget. While I was baking this weekend it dawned on me that if you don't have one of these, you need one. This is a Side Swipe beater for a KitchenAid mixer. I've had this beater for at least 3 years. I use it ALL THE TIME! There are two great reasons why I love this gadget.

Holiday Recipe Exchange - Chocolate Truffles
I ran into this recipe exchange on My Baking Addiction and couldn't resist participating, especially since it's all about chocolate! I love any dessert with chocolate. It was tough to decide which recipe I should submit. I finally chose my chocolate truffles because you can't get more chocolaty than this! They are rich, decadent, and beautiful.
