White Chocolate Lace

I'm not sure why but most of my desserts are coming out pink lately.  I hope you don't mind.  I think it's because all the strawberries and raspberries at the store have looked so good.  This week it was the strawberries calling me.  Do you ever get stuck in a color rut?  I'll try to make sure that my next post is NOT pink, but that is not really what this post is about.  It is actually about lace.  White chocolate lace to be exact.

Happy Birthday.......Ice Cream?

I have been asked many times if I make my own birthday cake.  Actually, yes.  Since I live in a home surrounded by boys, I usually use the occasion as an excuse to try some girly design, but this this year I made something different.

Remember that recipe for Strawberry Ice Cream?  I've become somewhat addicted to it this summer.  For my birthday I made a batch of Strawberry Ice Cream and a delicious topping.

Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes

Today is officially the end of my summer.  My kids start school tomorrow.  That day is always bitter-sweet to me.  On the one hand, I've created a staggering list of things I'd like to do that I just didn't have time for during the summer.  On the other, I miss my kids when they are away all day.  I feel like we have had a very successful summer though.  It took us several months, but we actually  finished painting our house and our garage.  That was a big job!  Now it is time to shift gears and start soccer, homework, and wood hauling.  I think I might actually be ready for some snow...as long as it comes after October 16th. (more on that later).....Enough about me, how about this recipe?
