A Time For Thanks

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just a few days away?  How did this happen?  I'm not prepared!  I'll be doing my grocery shopping tomorrow.  Looks like I left myself no other choice than to battle the crowds at the store.  No, I won't be participating in black Friday.  The crowd at the grocery store is enough for me.  It's well worth the hand to hand to get the fixin's for sweet potato heaven(the kiddos' favorite) and turtle pie(hubby's favorite).  It just isn't Thanksgiving without them.

Are you blessed with cooking the feast this year?  Or are you blessed with loved ones who are cooking for you?  Either way, I hope you have a chance to relax, enjoy some good food, and count your blessings.  Since moving to New England, I think about the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving more than before.  It wasn't too far from here that they gathered to thank the Lord for watching over them.  As I gather around our little Thanksgiving table with my two wonderful boys and my loving husband, I'm so very thankful for all the Lord has given me.  What a great tradition to remind us of what is really important.

If you've waited until the last minute, like me, to do your shopping, you still have time to make these desserts.
Pumpkin Cakes
Turtle Pie

Love and blessings to you all,
