Good friends are worth their weight in gold. You know the kind that volunteer to help you with stuff before you even ask. I made this cake for one such friend.
The flowers were simple cut outs in two shades of purple.
After searching high and low in my kitchen I found the perfect formers for my flowers. For the large cut outs I used some big mixing spoons. For the little cut outs I used a candy mold. I let these sit and dry so they would keep their shape.
On the sides of the cake I piped some vines and stuck the flowers on with a little frosting.
Can you tell that I'm ready for spring? This is definitely a spring cake. This design could be used for many different occasions. It just happened to be my version of a thank you note.
Thanks, Amanda, for your help. I couldn't have done it without you.
