My Little Boy's Birthday

Hello everyone!  I know I have been absent for a few days.  I have been moving from Texas to Massachusetts.  I'll bring you more about that later. This post is about my son's birthday cake.  After having my stuff in my new house for all of four days, I had to make a birthday cake.  It wasn't the best time to be making a cake, but I couldn't disappoint my son.

He has been enjoying watching the old Tom and Jerry cartoon series lately.  I decided to use that idea for his cake.  He just loves the physical humor and rolls with laughter when Jerry blows Tom up.

I don't have any pictures of this project in progress.  I didn't get started making the cake until around 10 PM and worked until 4:30 AM.  If I had taken pictures it would have taken me twice as long.

I did find out that the fondant recipe I use does not need to rest overnight.  I only gave it 4 hours, out of necessity, and it worked.

It's ready to blow!  I wish I had some sparkler candles.  That would have been perfect!  The twisty kind worked pretty well though.

As sleepy as I was the next morning, the look of excitement on my son's face made it all worth it.  Hope you enjoy it!
